The New Orleans Police Department fired cop Sgt. John Hunter
who admitted to doing personal activities during hours that he was billing
overtime to review rape cases, according to his attorney. NOPD internal affairs investigators secretly
followed Hunter while he was supposed to be working overtime, and found that he
was doing personal activities and not actually working, Hessler said. Hessler
said his client just billed for a block of hours, instead of breaking it down
into separate hours when he actually worked.
