NYPD Officer Gets 75 Years to Life in Sex Assault

“It’s becoming a disturbingly familiar scene in America - mentally unstable cops”

A former NYPD officer has been sentenced to three terms of 25 years to life in prison after being convicted of grabbing a schoolteacher off a street and sexually assaulting her at gunpoint.
Michael Pena was sentenced Monday.
The 28-year-old was convicted in March of committing a criminal sex act. A jury deadlocked on rape charges.
The woman testified that Pena forced her into an apartment building courtyard last August and raped her and forced her into other sex acts.
She says he threatened to shoot her in the face if she refused.
Through his lawyer, Pena admitted attacking the woman but says they never had intercourse.
He was off duty during the attack.
Pena, an officer for three years, was fired after his conviction.
