Eugene cop convicted of sexual harassment

EUGENE — A Eugene police pleaded guilty Wednesday to sexual harassment and also admitted there was evidence to convict him of misdemeanor sexual abuse.  Stefan Zeltvay was sentenced in Lane County Circuit Court to four-and-a-half months in custody, which he will serve at home with electronic monitoring. The Register-Guard reports the 44-year-old harassed female co-workers and other adults.

Ricky Bostic, 44, of the Petaluma Police Department was involved in the death of a suspect who was shocked with a Taser in 2005 while fighting with deputies. Sonoma County court records show Bostic was convicted of drunken driving on April 14, 2009. He was sentenced to three years probation.After leaving Sonoma County, Bostic moved to Maryland. In 2012, he was charged in connection with two sexual assaults, several burglaries and trespassing in Baltimore County. Baltimore County police linked Bostic to the crimes with fingerprints, DNA and a cellphone camera with pictures of one of the victims taken before she awoke. On Wednesday, Bostic was convicted of breaking into a residence on May 24, 2012, and sexually assaulting two women in separate rooms of the home. Police tied Bostic to six other burglaries and another sexual assault over a 56-day period that summer.He was arrested after he attempted to open a sliding glass door at an apartment complex, causing a woman asleep on the couch inside to wake up and call for her boyfriend.

Aug. 5 trial for cop in two rapes

A jury trial for Garden Grove police officer accused of raping two women has been scheduled for Monday, Aug. 5. The trial will begin at 9 a.m. in Central Justice Center, Santa Ana for Jesse Andrew Green, currently on non-paid administrative leave from the GGPD. According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Green faces charges not only of rape, but also of witness intimidation and threats. It’s alleged that Green, who joined the GGPD in 2006, went to the Santa Ana home of a woman he had been dating and on April 26, 2006 sodomized her while she screamed and struggled to get away. Prosecutors say that Green “made derogatory and intimidating statements to frighten the victim.” Then, on Nov. 6, 2009 Green allegedly took a woman to his Huntington Beach apartment on their first date and violently sodomized her, and made threats.

Veteran Muscatine Officer Charged With Sexual Assault

A Muscatine police officer has been charged with sexual assault after an investigation into an incident that occurred while on duty. According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, 46-year-old Thomas Tovar was arrested Thursday, July 25, 2013 on a charge of 3rd degree sexual assault.

In a news release, the department says in February, 2013, Tovar assisted with an OWI vehicle stop involving a woman. Tovar then drove the woman to her hotel room. The next morning, a complaint was filed with police after a friend found the woman lying on the bed with no clothes on and authorities began to investigate. The woman said she was so intoxicated, she remembers the OWI stop, but has little recollection of how she got back to the hotel. She did recall a male being on top of her while lying on the bed in the hotel room.

Officer Suspended Over Female Inmate Encounter

CLEVELAND– Ken Kirk, a city cop has been suspended over his actions with a female inmate. Kirk received a 30-day unpaid suspension; that’s the maximum Director of Public Safety, Martin Flask, can hand out. Kirk was found to violate police department policies when he entered a female inmate’s hospital room back in January.He was accused of having an inappropriate conversation with the inmate. “That conversation clearly, by his own, was sexual in nature. It should not have happened; but it did happen and when you engage in that kind of conduct there are consequences,” Flask said.The woman also said Kirk took pictures of her. Officials say those pictures were evidentiary in nature.

Cop suspended after requesting 'oral sex'

A Rio Grande cop named Alejandro Gutierrez is arrested after a woman came forward alleging he demanded oral sex. Gutierrez, Jr. was arrested on Monday morning. He is being charged with sexual assault, official oppression, and civil rights violation of person in custody.Early Sunday morning Gutierrez pulled the woman over for a traffic stop and discovered she had a warrant for a misdemeanor charge.Chief Piper said the woman then followed Gutierrez in her own car to the police station. While there, a family member came to pick up the woman’s car while her information was being processed. Gutierrez offered the woman a ride home. That’s when the woman said the officer demanded oral sex.
