A Houston police officer was arrested Thursday for a rape
that allegedly took place last month.
Adan Jimenez Carranza, 32, is accused of a June 18 aggravated sexual
assault, according to court records.
Carranza was relieved of duty on June 21 because of a pending internal
affairs investigation, Houston Police Department spokesman Kese Smith
said. Smith said Carranza was assigned
to the Westside patrol division and started with HPD in September 2009. It is
unclear from early reports whether the alleged assault took place while
Carranza was on duty.
